 Next Meeting: on hold

It is difficult to imagine, that in our time of high technologies there exist places, where progress didn't come. Besides the more coming progress theoretically can reduce the possible income, the more that progress is restrained by means of all existing ways.

As you know, the most of free e-mail services exist because of advertising earnings that is shown to the Users in the web-interface of mailbox. That is the reason why does internet giants of web-industry do not hurry to made the free access for e-mail by means of protocols POP3 and SMTP, because then the effects of their publicity will decrease, and they do not want that. Such giants as Yahoo.com, www.Hotmail.com, AOL.com have a lot of users, who attached to the other companies services. They do not hurry to introduce such access because users have no another choice, they just get into to use the web-interface.

Of cause there are some ways to avoid these limitations. For example, there are programs of third-party writers for Yahoo.com who convert the web-traffic into POP3. But this increases the possibility of password stealing with the help of that program, and that reduces the willing to use it. For Hotmail.com from MSN.com there is possibility to use the special protocol which is integrated in the Outlook Express and does not accessible for the others programmers of the mail programs that narrow down the users freedom when choosing the post program. The AOL.com has access by POP3 and SMTP, but it is accessible for the clients for internet access from that provider and this cramp the region of mail using because the internet access from the www.AOL.com is not everywhere.

But, they lose a lot trying to hold the old marketing policy oriented for on-line publicity limiting the users choice. There is another way to monetize population attracting and holding users. The company Google.com became the new pattern of work with User with its mail Gmail.com. At the beginning the users can access the interfaces POP3 and SMTP, that does not limit the users in the way of mail using. But the service has a big advantage before ordinary mail clients like Outlook Express - that is big post mailbox and all the letters can be stored at the server without problems that allows the user to have access for the mailbox from the any part of the world. The user have only the relevant ad - there are no banners! Such format attracts more and more users of e-mail - because the convenience web-interface allows forgetting the problem of the mail programs installation .

At the end the e-mail of the Future is imagined as web-interface without using the mail programs. Most probably www.Yahoo.com, MSN.com and AOL.com will use this model in the future, because such approach better than the old methodic with the using of mail programs. Even POP3 and SMTP have served their time because the Gmail.com notice about new mail you can get by means of RSS channels.
